The 1762-MM1RTC module is a combination of a memory module and a real-time clock module and it is produced by the company Allen-Bradley. It belongs to the product series called the MicroLogix 1200 series. The MicroLogix 1200 controller consists of a processor, power supply, input circuits, and output circuits. The 1762-MM1RTC is compatible with the Bulletin 1762 MicroLogix controller and it has an expansion I/O module that can accommodate up to 6 modules per controller. The controller should be mounted horizontally while the expansion I/O should extend to the right of the MicroLogix 1200 controller.
It is recommended users allow 2 inches of space on every side of the controller for good ventilation of the system. Make sure that users maintain side spacing from the adjacent equipment, wireways, and walls. The 1762-MM1RTC provides 4 interrupt inputs and 4 pulse catch/latching inputs. In addition, the MicroLogix combination of the real-time clock and memory module has a built-in high-speed 20 kHz counter. The 1762-MM1RTC features a programmable limit switch function and I/O that can expand to up to 136 points. It also has an isolated RS-485/ RS-232 serial port that is used for communication. To install the 1762-MM1RTC, remove the port cover for the real-time clock or memory module. The next thing to do is to align the memory module connector with the controller connector pins. Finally, let the memory module slide into the controller. Note that electrostatic discharge can result in damage to the semiconductor devices in the controller. Therefore, it is advisable that users do not touch sensitive areas, including the connector pins.
