The Allen-Bradley 1762-OB16 maximizes flexibility by increasing the I/O count and type capabilities of MicroLogix 1200 Programmable Controller Systems. This solid-state 24 Volt DC-rated source output module is part of the Bulletin 1762 MicroLogix Expansion I/O Module systems. It features an integrated high-performance bus, label-to-record terminal designations, software keying for improved accuracy in positioning, and finger-safe terminal blocks for wiring. The 1762-OB16 is an ideal solution for controller applications that require more I/O than the built-in ones the controller comes with. The 1762-OB16 Source Output Module expands the maximum number of I/O for MicroLogix 1200 controllers by a factor of six. It has a voltage category of 24 Volts DC, a maximum surge current of 2.0 A, a maximum bus current draw of 175 mA at 5 Volts DC (0.88 Watts), and a maximum continuous current of 4.0 A at 55 degrees Celsius (131 degrees Fahrenheit)/ 8.0 A at 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit) per module.

The 1762-OB16 comes with 16 digital outputs and one common output. This I/O module can be panel or DIN rail-mounted. A DIN rail end anchor is required for high vibration environments. Mount the 1762-OB16 to a well-grounded surface and maintain clearance from the adjacent equipment, enclosure walls, and the wireways. All sides should have 2 inches (50.8 millimeters) of space for adequate ventilation. The ideal maximum operating altitude for the 1762-OB16 is 2000 m (6561 feet) with humidity between 5 to 95% non-condensing.
