The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1763-MM1 memory module is a MicroLogix 1100 memory module. The module has an 8-KB memory capacity that it uses to stores both user programs (4 KB) and user data (4 KB). Additionally, the 1763-MM1 memory module supports online editing, and the embedded web server allows the controller data to be displayed as a web page. Note that the 1763-MM1 memory module is used with the MicroLogix 1100 controller. The controller is designed to broaden application coverage through analog inputs, Ethernet communication, and visualization capabilities. Also, the memory module is nonvolatile and it supports a battery backup static RAM. The Allen-Bradley 1763-MM1 memory module can be programmed by using the Windows RSLogix 500 software or the RSLogix Micro software. Additionally, the memory module supports embedded high-speed counters, the data access tool, and data logging. Also, it supports a real-time clock and floating-point math. Note that the MicroLogix 1100 controller is shipped with the memory module port cover in place.
The Allen-Bradley 1763-MM1 memory module can be ordered to provide a removable backup of the user data and user programs. Moreover, the memory module can be used to transport programs between controllers. The 1763-MM1 memory module, like other memory modules used with Allen-Bradley 1763 controllers, has special safety or security features for press control and other critical applications, auto-recovery through a power cycle after a controller fault, and for the comparison of programs. Additionally, the module provides for data file and memory module write protection and it also allows for removal or insertion under power. Because this is a memory module, the manufacturer recommends that proper grounding procedures to be undertaken to prevent damage.
