The Allen-Bradley 1764-DAT is a Data Access Plug-in Tool for MicroLogix 1500 PLC controllers. When a user purchases a MicroLogix 1500 programmable logic controller, they are given the option to upgrade its functionalities span with the 1764-DAT. Some of the available options for this tool are data monitoring and adjustments.

Whether the user is PLC programmer or a maintenance technician, this product will be handy when directly accessing a 48-bit memory element and a 48-integer memory element. It will swiftly provide the user with information in the case that the controller experiences alarm conditions. Besides the options to change integer and bit values within the controller, these elements can be optionally locked for monitor purposes only. The 1764-DAT is mountable as an option for MicroLogix 1500 series programmable logic controller (along with replacement battery and memory module/real-time clock). A PLC unit has a base unit with a power supply, inputs and outputs and a processor. Installation of this plugin unit to a PLC unit consists of removing the protective cover from the top of the PLC housing and pushing the data access tool down to establish firm contact connection. It is removed as easily as it is installed and removal and insertion of this module under power is permitted.

Additional specifications of the 1764-DAT include dimensions of 27 x 17 x 7 millimeters, a temperature rating of 0 to 55 degrees Celsius, a maximum Bus Current of 350 mA at 5 Volts DC, two function keys, and a heat power of 1.75 Watts.
