About
The Allen-Bradley 1764-LRP is an Enhanced MicroLogix 1500 Processor. It is a component of MicroLogix 1500 Programmable Controllers that offers a large-memory solution to a variety of applications. It provides 14K words of user-configurable memory for data and programs. It comes with a program execution time of approximately 1 millisecond for a 1K-word program (including bit, counter, timer, and math instructions). In a controller system, the 1764-LRP Processor Unit provides the trim potentiometers, a Run/Remote/Program mode switch, a communication toggle push button, and logic processing. It serves as an interface to the real-time clock, the DAT, and the memory modules. This processor uses a controller assembly to support a maximum of eight I/O modules in an additional I/O bank. For programming, this processor uses the RSLogix 500, Version 4.0 or higher.
The 1764-LRP Processor comes with an additional communications port, DTE (male) 9-pin D-shell connector with a 30 Volt DC isolation. This RS-232 port is electrically isolated and used for peer-to-peer and SCADA/RTU networks, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, and the DH-485 ports. It can be separately configured (Channel 1) for any supported communication protocol. Because the 1764-LRP is an enhanced version of the standard processing unit, an isolator is not required when connecting a MicroLogix controller system that is using the 1764-LRP to a computer. This module requires a backup battery once its battery indicator light turns on, as the original battery will only last for at least 7 days.
