The 1764-MM1 MicroLogix 1500 Memory Module by Allen-Bradley is an 8 KB optional memory module that is attached to the processor of the Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1500 Processor module which allows for easy backup storage of users’ programs and data, and to transfer users’ programs for use with other controllers. The 1764-MM1 is attached to the processor unit to provide safety/security for press control applications and other critical applications, and for auto-recovery of the controller’s program data, in the event of power failure leading to controller fault. The memory module also helps to compare programs in the controller’s processor, and it provides write-protection to the controller’s program data. It has a battery-backed memory capacity of 8 KB, with 5 years minimum of battery lifespan at 40°C, and it can be attached and removed with ease, while the controller is still operating.

The Allen-Bradley 1764-MM1 MicroLogix 1500 Memory Module is protected from debris, oil, chemicals, and corrosion by an IP20 enclosure. Its communication ports are the DH-485, Modbus, DF1, and ASCII ports, and the output sources that it can use are the Relay Port and the DC FET output sources. The 1764-MM1 can operate at a temperature range of 0°C to 55°C (32°F to 131°F), at a relative humidity range between 5 and 95% without condensation, and it can be stored at a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C (-40°F to 185°F). The 1764-MM1, like every module component of the MicroLogix 1500 system, is built to withstand an operating shock of up to 20G, with an operating vibration of up to 2G at 10 to 500Hz, and it is cUL-us and CE certified.
